The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
