The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Almighty Allah's Truth.
