The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 it is not a jest. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
