The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
