The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
