The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He was created of spurting water 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
