The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 The piercing star! 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
