Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 it is not a jest. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
