The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And it is no joke. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
