The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 it is not a jest. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
