The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
