The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
