The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
