The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
