The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I secretly plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
