The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And no trifle. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
