Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
