The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 he was created of gushing water 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
