The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 it is no merriment. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
