The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the shining star -- 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
