The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By heaven and the night-star! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the shining star -- 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
