The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
