Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 The piercing star! 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17

True are the words of God the Almighty.
