The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
