The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
