Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 And no trifle. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
