Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
