The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are devising guile, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
