The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
