Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
