The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And no trifle. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
