The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 The piercing star! 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 And it is no joke. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
