The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 it is not a jest. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
