The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
