The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
