The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 he was created of gushing water 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And it is no joke. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
