The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
