The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
