The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And no trifle. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
