The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
