The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
