The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
