The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
