The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 it is not a jest. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
