The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 and so am I: 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
