The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
