The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
