The Comet (Al-Taareq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
