The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and so am I: 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
