The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
